Parking
When you see the sign
Skilt 767 indicates the way to a parking area or parking facility. Follow the arrow or direction shown on the sign if you intend to park, but check the signs at the actual parking area before leaving your vehicle.
Rules
- The sign is a direction sign indicating the direction to a parking facility.
- Skilt 767 does not, by itself, permit you to park where the sign is located.
- At the parking area, you must follow Skilt 552 «Parkering», supplementary signs, road markings and any conditions regarding payment or time limits.
- No-stopping or no-parking restrictions along the road still apply even if Skilt 767 indicates the way to parking.
Tips
- Look for the arrow or the sign's position in the direction signs, and move into the correct lane early.
- Reduce your speed in a controlled manner as you approach the exit to the parking facility.
- Read all the conditions at the entrance; payment, maximum stay and who the spaces are reserved for may vary.
Common misconceptions
- Assuming that the sign means you can park immediately next to it.
- Confusing Skilt 767 with Skilt 552, which indicates the actual parking area and may have supplementary signs with parking conditions.
- Overlooking the fact that the parking facility may require payment or have a time limit even if this is not stated on the direction sign.

Theory test tip
A typical trap is interpreting Skilt 767 as permission to park. In the theory test, you should distinguish between a sign indicating the way to parking and the signs at the parking area that determine where and under what conditions you may park.
Did you know
Skilt 767 uses the parking symbol as part of the direction signs, while Skilt 552 is used to regulate or mark the actual parking area. The sign's context and position are therefore crucial to its meaning.
Frequently asked questions
Can I park right next to Skilt 767?
No, not on the basis of this sign alone. It indicates the way to parking, while the usual rules and signs at the location determine whether you may stop or park there.
What is the difference between Skilt 767 and Skilt 552?
Skilt 767 indicates the way to a parking area or parking facility. Skilt 552 indicates parking at the actual location and may be supplemented with conditions regarding, among other things, time, payment or vehicle category.
Does the sign mean that parking is free?
No. The sign only indicates where parking is available. Any payment conditions are stated at the entrance, on the payment machine or through other signs.
Do I have to follow the parking signs inside the area?
Yes. You must follow signs, supplementary signs, road markings and other stated conditions in the parking area, even when Skilt 767 has directed you there.
